Lakland Owners Group #69

I've been rocking DR Pure Blues on the 76 and Sunbeams on the Scheff. My god those Sunbeams are MELLOW. With generous mids cut they sound damn near perfect.

I played Sunbeams for years before going to the MJCs... sunbeams are awesome strings!

nah...im good bro.
Just sticking w/my current faves.
new strings will require new bass as what I have on my current basses will remain.
P = D'Adario Chromes
J = GHS Brite Flats
76 = DR Pure Blues
Scheff = Sunbeams
granted for each bass I'd be willing to try different sets of the same basic type of string etc...but if I wanted to mess w/stainless steel rounds ...that would be a new (to me) bass.

A 4-94 perhaps???

I 'need' a custome Lakland 5 string fretless PJ but I've been able to fight of the GAS so far. But when sanity returns and the gigs start back up.....all bets are off.

Oh yeah!!!!!

Baby ... Come to Pappa!

That sounds like a great bass!!!!

I've always wanted a fretless P.......

A fretless PJ? WOW.... Best of both words...

Added to my list of " wants". ..........("Needs")...:)

But it's them all as well!

Great post Gman!
The 44-94 doesn’t do a Scheff, IME & IMO. But then, there’s plenty who think the 94’s P, J, and MM sounds aren’t close enough. Like I said in an earlier post though, I never used my 94s to mimic the big 3. I fell in love with the old Bart-loaded 94’s own sound.

As long as it does it's own thing I'll be good with it. Dont need a swiss army bass as I have an actual p and J. Dont have a ray but I genuinely love my 76 way more than that Ray Special I had.
