Gonna try the same on Friday. First band practice since March 2nd.
Not sure if it's sanctioned yet by the state or if they are pushing the limits. Or what rules they are putting in place. We are in a traditionally red county so there's that.
I should add outdoors, masked, distanced ect. A trial run with as many safe practices employed as possible.

distnaced....well then whats the point of being social in the first place if I'm remaining far away from all those around me? I'd just rather stay at home tbh.

Which is more preferred in a Skyline DD bass? Fralin or Lakland/Hanson pickup and what are the differences?

Both are very good P pickups. To me,the Fralin is a touch more vintage sounding, more rounder sounding, but you’d probably not be able to tell the difference in a blind test.
My US 44-64 came with a Lakland/Hanson in it. It was the loudest P pickup I’ve ever heard... Very aggressive. I swapped it for a Lindy Fralin, and I’m much happier with the Fralin.

I don’t know - we’ve been either self isolating with possible Covid19 or locked down for ten weeks now. The difference between not leaving your house, and being able to go socially distanced to the shops, or even talk to a friend from the end of the garden path is massive.
It will only be for a while
Been lusting after one of these for quite a while so when the 55-64 finally came in late yesterday, I stopped everything to get it unpacked, inspected, and tested it out. It came with a Nordstrand NP5 installed (which sounds amazing) and strung up with a set of Deep Talkin’ flats (which also sound amazing!) so I’ll never be able to change the strings ever again.
No real pics yet but it’s more beautiful in person in all its simplicity.
It did come with an old-school Lakland case, Dunlop strap locks, and a Couch strap so I’m pretty happy and can’t wait to get to know it better.
For me personally? Yes. At least right now. I was a self-avowed Fender 4 stringer for life until I needed a good 5 string bass and hated Fender 5 stringers (undefined, soft, and squishy B string).
My first 55-02 was a bit of a gateway drug and while I did have a DJ4 for a limited time, I can’t seem to find a Lakland 5 string I don’t fall in love with.
Sorry for the dumb question ahead of time lol. Are the DD’s the standard Pbass body size? (Not shaved down or altered like the DJ Jazz)
