Lakland Owners Group #69

Thanks Max!..

Getting better...

Puffed up and was painful for a while... Went to the doc and got some antibiotics... Much better now.

Haven't played since it happened so... Dunno...I need to stay playing again!!!

Appreciate the concern!!..
Woot! Glad to hear your hand is getting better, Douglas!

Hope everyone is doing well with the lockdowns!!!

Anyone opening up?..

We are in MN visiting our new grand daughter.... Interesting up here.. Not 100% open but lots open... And unlike Illinois... No one is wearing masks...

I should add outdoors, masked, distanced ect. A trial run with as many safe practices employed as possible.

this masked , distanced crap is for the birds.
masked for any longer than like...5 min makes me crazy.
distnaced....well then whats the point of being social in the first place if I'm remaining far away from all those around me? I'd just rather stay at home tbh.

sorry ...rant. this lockdown crap is getting to me

I don’t know - we’ve been either self isolating with possible Covid19 or locked down for ten weeks now. The difference between not leaving your house, and being able to go socially distanced to the shops, or even talk to a friend from the end of the garden path is massive.
It will only be for a while

I did something stupid. And by stupid, I mean long overdue but the timing isn't necessarily the best.

Been lusting after one of these for quite a while so when the 55-64 finally came in late yesterday, I stopped everything to get it unpacked, inspected, and tested it out. It came with a Nordstrand NP5 installed (which sounds amazing) and strung up with a set of Deep Talkin’ flats (which also sound amazing!) so I’ll never be able to change the strings ever again. ;)

No real pics yet but it’s more beautiful in person in all its simplicity.

It did come with an old-school Lakland case, Dunlop strap locks, and a Couch strap so I’m pretty happy and can’t wait to get to know it better.

Is it me or are Lakland 5s more popular than 4s?

For me personally? Yes. At least right now. I was a self-avowed Fender 4 stringer for life until I needed a good 5 string bass and hated Fender 5 stringers (undefined, soft, and squishy B string).

My first 55-02 was a bit of a gateway drug and while I did have a DJ4 for a limited time, I can’t seem to find a Lakland 5 string I don’t fall in love with.
