Very nice, congrats! Is this fretboard considered to be Birdseye maple, in terms of specs?

I just removed DR Hi Beams to put on some TI J Flats, on #93 before shipping it to Rumblefisher. If the setup on your beautiful new 5er is perfect, as is, all you’ll need to do is loosen the truss maybe a quarter turn. The saddles should be good where they're at.

Btw, I did tweak everything on 93 though, cause Rumble said he wanted the action super close. I took it down almost all the way, even filing the nut slots deeper, and giving it barely any relief.

I LOVE THAT COMBINATION! Light weight and balanced, big plus. That is beautiful. Enjoy. I would be eager to put my fav Dunlop SS SUPERBRIGHTS ON HER, but that’s just me.

I agree. That said, it won't be too long before anything made of wood is an exotic luxury...because, simply...too many humans......and too close a resemblance between human and locust behaviour patterns :-( We just had my late parents' dining room table refinished and gave it to my daughter, who is moving in with her BF into their 1st "non-student" place.....it's made of solid Indian rosewood....the kind of thing that was a luxury item in 1970 and is now pretty much extinct/replaced by laminate/ "engineered" wood....Emerson said: "The years teach much which the days never know".

Yup... Real solid wood is hard to come by these days... My house has all real
oak trim and it's beautiful.

Even have a neat crown molded beam design in the living room... It's part of what we liked about the house when we first saw it.

Hard to refin new furniture because it's all laminates..

I played # 93 before it was sold and it played like butta then. JJ You got it lower and still playable? I would have to play it after that new set up. JJ does good work

Yep, it went lower. I always set em up by feel. I use Carl’s methods, minus the rulers. And then, I file the nut slots to make the open strings as close to fret 1 as they are to fret 2, when held down at the 1st. This made Carl grumble a bit when I mentioned it to him. But, a zero fret works for so many builders.... there’s a reason for that. And, my way makes the nut slots the same height as a fret. It can make a huge difference!

The feel, the weight, the neck...oh my goodness that neck! She's perfect. Damn near mint condition too, save for the odd little imprint in the clear coat.

JJ, thank you so much for selling #93 to me, I promise to play and take excellent care of her! I wash and dry my hands before even handling her! :)

Horrible pic of me (I have all my teeth! SMH). But, it’s a decent pic of my new to me (demo/B-stock) GZ and new Gecko strap. I am loving both!

The bass has new LaBella Gold flats. They have the THUMP for sure, perfect for the low key “nobody can dance due to COVID” show that we did last night. I played the 32” acoustic Ibanez most of the night. They wanted a lower volume unplugged show. But, the last 4 tunes are dropped a half step, and those higher tension gold flats felt great tuned down.

Having played three of your basses back to back, all three played superbly to me and I think I am picky liking very low action.
