That looks killer with that guard! I have a white pearloid coming from Quickguards for my 55-01 and a tort for the 55-64. Should be here tomorrow.

And the putsing continues. The new pick guards came in this week and I was able to finally get them installed this morning. Love the look of the 55-01 and am not 100% in love with the tort on the 55-64. I think I like the aesthetic look of the black better yet I think tort will probably sit better in my country band.

Also, if you’d like to hear the thick n creamy goodness of my 55-02, we just released the title song Worth It from our upcoming album due out next Friday. I simply ran the bass passive straight into a DI with minimal DAW effects. It is just a solid foundation. Love it!

Have some TI Jazz Rounds coming to try on mine. Currently have Slinky Flats, but I would like some more low mids to go with the highs. It’s my “hi-fi” bass for when some slap is needed. Hoping the Jazz Rounds give a lot of the great sound of yours with those steels, but with a little less zing.

The tort is growing on me so I’ll keep it in place for a while.

Regarding the 55-01, I’ve always found the look to be just ok but not something that screams out to me to pick it up and play it. But that dang oval pick guard on it now just makes it pop! I’m very happy with the simple yet dramatic change.
