Lakland Owners Group #69

Not sure what year it was but a friend of mine knew Jerry Scheff was my idol and asked if I wanted to go to a lakland party for 20 people only. I didn't want to go but my friend talked me into it. I got there and my Jaw dropped. He said surprise. There was my idol Jerry Scheff. Not only him. Donald Duck dunn, Bob gloub, Joe Osbourne and Daryl Jones from the Rolling stones were also there. We got to talk with them for 3 hours one on one. It was the10th anniversary of Lakland. One of the highlights of my life. Theses are some pictures we took. Never before relesed.

Great pictures.. I'm really jealous....I didn't even know about Lakland at the time though

Quick posit for the LOG:

I have a '99 55-94 F/S (as shown in my sig below). However, thinking of just holding onto it, the longer it sits...

I do like the original Bart p'ups+pre setup, but, I've seen many basses on YT and others with upgraded/swapped pickups and pres. I think someone had Aguilar pickups and a Mike Pope pre. Just wondering what other options are out there. Maybe looking for something a little more clear and crisp, without being harsh. Maybe try just swapping the pre first, see how it works with the Barts?

I've just stuck a John east uni pre in mine.
ive found a big chunk clearer as it has an active blend, and its way more flexible with a clean treble boost and a pick attack option... the passive roll off is nice too. It's transformed the bass for me... so worth checking out

BUT they are still low output darker sounding pickups with a darker tone to them, so if you are wanting super bright the pickups might be where you start. the test I made on the old Bart setup was to use It passive the blend front or back, and use my helix to boost the gain so it was similar. If you like the passive sound of one pup then the preamp change might be for you

I don't THINK I posted this one before. Bought this Ice Blue Metallic beauty (44-64) about a month ago. Indian Laurel fretboard. So now I have two Laklands. This one and my Aztec Gold Jazz with J-Sonics on it.
