Played today again with the 44-64 GZ, this one is very close to my #!, my 1984 MIJ Fender PJ-555

It's been a while since I played this one in church.
The sound guy said " your bass was really really hot today..in a good way"
Those chisonics really get through the mix!
I had to remind him that the first time I brought it in he thought it was an active bass.
And yes . It really is the first " official" Osborn 5 with chisonics!

Very close, but different... The GZ has a lot of punch as the PJ-555, but has a bit more weight on the tone. Both are extraordinary basses, and maybe I'll be adding that 55-02 that I'm looking at...
That’s my tobacco burst 55-14. It’s my backup yet never had the looks to match it’s great tone due to an understated wood grain so I thought I’d do our sponsor proud and earn some occasional free beer from them in the process.
But wow! That 55-60 is gorgeous! It’s got me thinking I may need to step up to some chisonics at some point. Very nice.

I am looking for replacement knobs for my Lakland 44-64 Custom P/J. I want either chrome or black knobs that have a line or dot so I know how my knobs are set. Anyone have any recommendations? What size is the shaft? And if you have done this, can you post pictures? Thanks.

Are those Nordstrand “Fat Stacks” on the 55-01 Just curious how they work and what preamp your using.
Nordstrand Big Singles. Very responsive with the custom Audere pre that they don’t make anymore. Mine has a 6 position rotary Z mode selector. The pre is very transparent. Pretty low noise as well.
