I'm putting a 55-01 for sale soon. One string too many?
Sadly it is indeed one too many. I never warmed to five strings and never play music that needs it.
Opposite story here, I played 4 Strings for a very long time, until I got my first 55-94 in 1999/2000. After converting to a 5 I never returned to the 4 string EB.
Since I play Double Bass all my 4 String performances are in a vertical plane while all my EB performances are in on a horizontal plane. Keeps everything simple.

I’ll play any bass: 4, 5, or even 6 strings. I’ve spent years on each. But, I have way more fun on 4s.

I played 5 strings all thru the 90’s. Went back to 4 strings w/D-Tuner around ‘08. Late last year I got a Lakland 55-02. And, this year a 55-AJ.
I still have a 4 banger and they are fun. But, digging that 5 string massiveness more now!!

I got this at a recent church/church school auction.
I have not had a decent smoker / charcoal grill for quite a long time.
I grill out pretty much 12 months out of the year but use my gas grill for most things.
This is going to be for special occasions such as tonight.
Why is tonight a special occasion?
Because it's the first time I'm using it.
I really think I'm going to enjoy this new hobby.
I think you can actually use the grill starter to melt snow in winter time. but I might be mistaken.

Beautiful! Kamado style cookers are great, you’ll love it. I suspect you’ll find more special occasions than you thought. “It’s Tuesday, special occasion”

That looks similar to The Big Green Egg. Those ribs look really good. Did you use wood or charcoal briquettes?
These types of cookers typically use “lump” charcoal. For extra smoky flavor you can drop some chunks of wood under the charcoal to let it smoulder.
Doug, if you haven’t already, take a look at Jealous Devil charcoal. It’s highly recommended by the smoking community for these types of cookers.

I think I'm already addicted. Today is my Friday since I'm taking tomorrow off and doing some traveling to visit my father-in-law as he is 95 years old and having a few issues.
But anyways here's to some spatchcocked chicken!
I can see where this may become as addicting as a Lakland bass!
It's a competitor to the Big Green egg.
You are supposed to use wood lump charcoal not the normal charcoal.
I bought three different bags to check them all out to figure out which one I like best.
I used just a bit of applewood to add a little bit of flavor
