Lakland Owners Group #69

Those are USA Hipshot tuners. All of the hardware on the body looks correct for a USA Lakland as well.
They look exactly like my 2021 Skyline tuners, and my 2021 US Hipshot tuners on my Carlo say “Hipshot USA”. All my US 55-94s have had smaller post tuners, as seen in the pic of my latest one with black hardware.

That was an old man moment for me. I had them reversed in my head. I though the licensed had that marked on them and the USA had no additional marking. As you pointed out it's the reverse.

Thanks brother! I should not have loaned it to you, it seems to have sparked your need for a five string? lol...
Wellllll…. I didn’t have a single 5er among my (embarrassingly- way too large) collection. And, I’ve been wanting a pre-2K 55-94 replacement for the bass I named Traci. I still don’t have any desire to gig a 5 string though.

Don't beat yourself up, some import Hipshot tuners used to have LIC engraved on them. See here:

That's a beauty! They nailed the 60's burst on that!
I really would like another 44-64 US again, had a couple previously, but not quite settled no one.

Si

Thanks! This was my first Lakland which I gravitated towards due to the jazz neck. At the time there wasn't anything "another bass company" had on the market that I was looking for so I took the plunge. I haven't been disappointed and she as been with me the past 12 years. I can't say that for several different high end basses that I have owned.
