Thanks for the clarification. So any lined Skyline HB I may find is either made in Indonesia (2003-2008) or is possibly made in Korea and has a retrofit neck?

i have more of an issue with the pickups than the preamp, as the 5 string Lakland pickups have the split between the coils right under the A string (a 2.5 and 2.5), where as the Barts have a 3 and 2 configuration, which doesn’t result in the A string having a drop in volume. The LH single coils are pretty good, but you single coil so you can’t solo them. My ‘99 is dead quiet when any pickup/coil is soloed (as was the ‘00 I had prior).

Plus I think the older Bart stuff sounds more “Fenderish” or classic, and is more usable than the more modern LH3 (or Bart replacements). All IMHO and YMMV.
I used to think that but my 2006 LH3 55-94 with the toggle switched to the rear pickup of the humbucker sounds way more Fender-ish than any Fender I’ve ever owned. My Bart 55-94 gets close but the LH3 with steel rounds is so good. Once we release our next single I’ll be able to share how good it sounds.
The first Skyline HB's were Korean, Indo is later. Doubt you'll ever find a retrofit.
Does anyone have any information on Lakland bass guitar straps? I can't seem to find anything online. Obviously they are no longer for sale, and I haven't seen one come up on resale. It looks like a 3 inch strap with leather ends and the Lakland logo. See pictures of Adam Clayton with one below. Thanks for any info you can share and if you have one, can you comment on it. Is it any good? When were they made? Thanks.

Yes, info was in the For Sale ad, if I remember correctly, done by Wilkins? Really gorgeous, and I don’t like white basses, but this one is awesome.

Yes, this was a re-fin. It was originally Inca Silver, and @lpcarter has Marty Bell do an Olympic White refin. I may have inspired it with a US Lakland I had that looks just like this one - he’ll have to confirm.
Regardless, it’s great to have this bass. It’s nearly the same as my old one and I’m going to pretend it is my old one

Yep, 2005 Elevation tour. Got myself an identical DJ-4 in natural because of that. My first Lakland and now I am hooked.
