4-76 is like a Stingray, yes? If it had a Nordstrand Big Man in it (2 Big Singles stuck together), I'd buy it. I can dream.

I was thinking a Big Blademan with an Audere Classic 4 band. 
oh, those work too. I had one of those in a Hammersmith...once upon a time.
I built him a '51 P (tuned BEAD) that he says will be his last bass. He's been gigging it exclusively. I've been fortunate to know what a great bass feels like, thanks to Lakland and Carl Pedigo. And, Carl has been kind enough to be my teacher from afar. So, I have to give credit where it's due.... and my Lakland 4-94 still goes to every gig. Its neck is magical!
Oof, now we're talking. I think it would be something really special since you don't see a lot of 4-76s around.
I’ve got a Stingray and I’ve owned a gorgeous 4-76 deluxe (several here have owned it). I don’t have GAS for another EBMM bass, except maybe a BFR Bongo, but, I’d LOVE to have Lakland’s version of a ‘ray again with a skyline price tag!
^ Exactly! That would be very special. How about a 44-02 LOG bass that is a little different. No blocks, no binding, ebony fretboard, black headstock?
Keep in mind....we would need 25+ of any ONE model to make it happen....and maybe a year or more...JP said the Skyline plant is just starting to slow down....they were turning down orders last year due to being over capacity.
Just to be clear, does the 4-76 have the pickup in the typical Music Man sweet spot compared to the position of the 44/55-xx models? Not suggesting that the 44/55 pickup position isn't sweet, just different. I like the idea of a non-traditional pickup and pre-amp selection like others have recommended. Also, I really like the way the roasted maple necks look. I know they're en vogue nowadays but I think they look classy and based on some of the examples Lakland has been putting out, I dig it.

A YEAR OR MORE! That’s really long wait time! Good to know what is needed for a LOG bass to reach production.
Maybe less BUT I don't want to and CAN'T at this point make ANY promises....Need to clear it with the chief elves at Lakie before anything can happen!

If there was a Skyline 44-64 in the candy purple, I’d be all over it. Especially if it had a bound and blocked neck.

Posted these on the book of face. But, I know many aren’t on there or part of the Lākland basses group. This one’s been around, and owned by a few of us. I’ve made a resolution to gig it this year despite my love for the simplicity and feel of my 4 strings.
