Whoa, that's super cool Marcel! Never seen a 4-76 with that much quilting or Birdseye.
I've never tried the tone capsule, but it might make a good combo with the DS.
I really don't get along with the Tone Capsule. All a Darkstar needs is a passive tone control.
I just got back from visiting Carl to check on a few things.... 
Went upstairs to say hi to JP, Leo and the other Lakie artisans.
They are working on some really cool stuff.
Saw several of the "relic" basses they are making for Sweetwater....I guess they are selling very strongly! I am not a relic guy but Lakland seems to do it right. JP says they want to be realistic and subtle...except if requested to do otherwise....I guess they had a request to "really trash" a bass and they obliged.
They are also working on a series of guitars/basses based upon the Decade. I even hear Decade 5ers are available in US models!
Here are a few pictures of some various pickup configurations on three Decade guitars and a Decade baritone guitar (yes that is what I said ...a Baritone guitar!)
All 3 of the purple/ blue ones are for one person.

I also took a peek at the trans blue 55-02 with the flamed top that they had in the newsletter this week....I tell ya - its a steal!
Surprised its not gone already.
Pretty light, very low action.....I was tempted myself (although I cannot for a variety of ahem....reasons...)
Lastly- for those of you wanting a 55-64...here is your chance!
This body is spare due to an order than got cancelled....Leo said he can do a black or tort guard...and with a "US B neck" he said it would be a "great GREAT deal!".
you need to contact Leo directly - if you need his info, PM me. (NO - I get NO commission etc...I just know there is a bit of 5564 fever and I want to help quench that if I can!)

I, personally, am interested in a LOG II bass! Especially if it is bassed on the 5564. A PJ perhaps in that candy purple finish from the pics above! I'm in. I wonder if we could get a temperature here in this thread to gauge interest?

Yes, the 2015 44-94 is absolutely stunning and perfect in every way but I am just not comfortable owning something worth that much, if that makes sense. I have a jam session on Saturday and I realized I am hesitant to bring it with me, so I should probably let it go. The 2007 44-02 is a nice bass as well but I have a DJ-4 that I love that has been neglected. I'm still on the fence on how I feel about active basses. And if I were to get another 44-02 I would want something newer. I think I priced them both fairly, but if anyone disagrees, just send me a DM. I'd appreciate the feedback from experienced Lakland owners. This is my first time listing here on TB.

I finally got an interface and recorded some sounds. I think one of the input might not work but it cost $100-ish, has 2 gain knobs and an output knob, and sounds really clean.
All of these clips are short, not well played, and not that interesting. All recorded in Passive on my 44-01(Avatar).
For my fellow nerds: The pickups are a Bartolini P in the neck and the bridge is a Bartolinidual qual which splits to just the neck side and looks like it 60s position-ish.The pre is a Noll TCM3.
Signal chain is bass plugged directly into the interface and USB directly into the computer. DAW was only used for level adjustment, NOFX. Onto the goods...
I didn't record the P+H setting. It reminds me of when guys I jammed with in the 90s were obsessed with creating a "wall of sound"... ridiculous

I was talking to Leo and JP just showed up ... I actually interupted what he was originally going to do but he didn't seem to care.
Very nice! Clean playing that really gives an idea on what each setting sounds like. Thanks for sharing. I think they all sound useful but I liked the focus of the P+J the best.
Well, I would like to see a four string LOG bass this time. Maybe a JO or DJ in a custom color.
But so far, it sounds like folks want another 55-64, just in a different color than last time. Which is fair given how hard it apparently is to find one.
I'd like to see a 4-76 for the next LOG bass, no fancy tops, solid color, maple w/black blocks or MOP on rosewood.
Last time it felt like we 4 string traditionalists got a take a 5 string P or leave it decision.
That said I did buy one, but it just didn't get played, so I sold it to some lucky TB'er scouring the classifieds.
