That’s HAWT! JJ you know I’m not a RW fretboard fan, but I’d play that one! Just looking at it makes you want to pick it up and play it. Gorgeous!

Super-cold in CT today. Good time to stay in with my two fantastic Laklands ~ a '98 (thanks again Mr Matt) and an '01. I'm so thrilled with the HB, even more than I imagined.

You can't do the same thing as last time. It should be something different. Like a Skyline 44-51 with the vintage single coil pickup. I could never figure out why they did the split single on the Skyline version of that.

New to me ! 2014 Lakland Decade . I gave the fretboard a good cleaning and and a drink . I also polished the frets , put on a new set of round wounds and gave her a good setup . It came with chromes and did not like them on this bass . I have flats on two other basses and aggressive round wounds do this bass justice for me .
Took her to my friends to jam tonight and man this bass roars . I sold my 44-64 pj to get my hands on this bass when I seen it for sale by a reputable dealer on Reverb and man ….. l am sure a very happy camper . The only pedal I run with my rig currently is a Keeley bassist compressor .

Yes, a US made release.

Since the first LOG bass was a 5 string, hopefully people could agree on a 4 string model for the 2nd LOG bass. But, I know odds are super slim that we could get 5 people, much less - 30, to agree on anything.

Have you had any technical problems with the 1997-2000 5594?
All the ones I had reacted to the weather.
Anybody have a similar problem?

I wouldn't call small turns of the truss a "problem". Mine have all needed seasonal truss rod tweaks. That said, I never re-applied tru oil and wax (others use different brands) which is the moisture barrier. I will check my latest trans-red deluxe (from that era) that I posted pictures of a couple days ago. But, it played amazingly then, just like when I bought it. I also run a humidifier all winter long, every day. It keeps my basses and sinuses happy. BTW, sinus doctors will tell you that dry winter air is a big contributing factor to winter sinus and respiratory illnesses (viral and bacterial). Dry cracking sinuses are open doors to infection.

No issues my '98 55-94 here in western NY. I very rarely have to touch the truss rod no matter the weather. I don't have any humidity control in my house.

My ‘99 moves a bit, but not the end of the world. I also haven’t done any treatment to the neck, even though I have a tub of bowling alley wax I bought specifically for that purpose

Per the Lakland faq

“The back of the neck is a hand rubbed oil finish with a thin wax coating. We recommend occasionally cleaning the neck with pure orange oil and reapplying a coating of clear paste wax or bowling alley wax. After applying the wax, allow to dry for five minutes then wipe off the excess. The wax can be scuffed with fine steel wool to produce a satin finish or polished to a dull luster depending on your preference. Avoid cleaners and polishes that contain added thinners or silicone.

We also recommend orange oil for cleaning the fingerboards. The maple fingerboard does not require any sealer after cleaning. We recommend Howard Brand Feed N Wax after cleaning for our rosewood and ebony fingerboards.”
