My ‘98 with a beautiful BEM board is very sensitive to the seasons changing and needs tweaking several times a year.
It’s worth it though.
My ‘99 moves a bit, but not the end of the world. I also haven’t done any treatment to the neck, even though I have a tub of bowling alley wax I bought specifically for that purpose
Per the Lakland faq
“The back of the neck is a hand rubbed oil finish with a thin wax coating. We recommend occasionally cleaning the neck with pure orange oil and reapplying a coating of clear paste wax or bowling alley wax. After applying the wax, allow to dry for five minutes then wipe off the excess. The wax can be scuffed with fine steel wool to produce a satin finish or polished to a dull luster depending on your preference. Avoid cleaners and polishes that contain added thinners or silicone.
We also recommend orange oil for cleaning the fingerboards. The maple fingerboard does not require any sealer after cleaning. We recommend Howard Brand Feed N Wax after cleaning for our rosewood and ebony fingerboards.”

I have a 1998 55-94. I am the one and only owner. I have ajusted the neck once in that time. I live in Central Washington State. We have generally low humidity, but four definite seasons. Cold in the winter (lows in the single digits) and hot in the summer (highs in the triple digits) and everything in between, except long periods of really high humidity. The neck has been stable. I also have a 1999 with a 2009 neck and it is just as consistant.

You can let that dream go - It was a nightmare for Lakland and they lost money on the group thing
Dunno about them losing money on it..
There were at least 2 runs of 5564 skylines. That were sold out.
As an update... If people are a bit flexible on color we have 6 fans of a 4476 type LOG deux bass as of today ..
About a quarter of the way there.

Is the pickup moved towards the neck a bit more on a 4-76 vs a 44-02? Would it be standard dots vs blocks (I don't do blocks and/or binding)
Also... passive or active? I kind of prefer passive on a bass like this, but then the Lakland pickup won't work. Last time we had the option of choosing Nordstrand or Lakland pickups, that would be sweet too.
The 4-76 has the pickup in the Stingray location which is further toward the neck than a 44-02.
Depending on fretboard options I might get in on that order. What would REALLY excite me would be a Skyline Scheff special run.
I wonder whether it might be more helpful to run a series of polls:
1st - Body shape & string numbers
2nd - Pickup/preamp arrangement
3rd - Fingerboard
4th - Inlays
Etc
Not ideal, but design it by committee would hopefully then lead to a resultant bass with the right number of people invested in it.

Can I join the Party with my Beautiful 1998. Probably my favorite and most versatile bass.
I live in Canada and the neck needs micro adjustments all the time. I've gotten used to setting ht neck up and making those adjustments.
It's awesome. I personally just favor the front pickup but it is nice to have the variety. I really dig the 1.5" nut on them.
