Mine is what I think you’re referring to as a mature subtle amount of yellow with a much broader cherry burst.I agree. It also depends on who sprayed the burst and what day! Sometimes it is a very mature subtle amount of yellow, and other times it looks very vivid and a narrow band of cherry (which I prefer).
In person, it looks fantastic! Pics really don't give it its due! Mine is rich, deep...just gorgeous over flame ot quilt. Add a birdseye board and a plexi/see-through guard and POW! The Hotness.
I wasn't sold on it either, but I decided to get it anyway (limited number of used 55-02s available over here).
However, I have to say that after adding a pickguard it's really grown on me a lot.
I have to agree. It must be seen. I had a mint condition 1st year 4-94 (I think it was serial number 93) that was cherryburst with BEM fretboard. Pat Wilkins knew how to spray 'em, and still does! The cherryburst was gorgeous!I agree. It also depends on who sprayed the burst and what day! The Bart pups and preamps in the 1998-2000 55-94s (and the ones in my '95 4-94) leave me wanting nothing! No supposed "upgrades" needed. Both are quite exquisite. We sure are seeing a lot of examples of 55-94’s with the Bartolini pickups and preamp. Amazingly this system has proved
the test of time. I had the opportunity to switch out mine when Lakland moved to the LH ( Lakland /Hanson) pickups which are quite good. I just
preferred my Bartolini system.
Have you seen one in person? No pics ever do it justice. I never cared for it until I saw it at a store. It was my first 5-string Lakland.
Well, it's back on the block:
For Sale - 2022 Lakland Skyline 5502 Deluxe Pleked
390 feedbacks, seems like this was inevitable!Hmmmm...wonder why.
But he's asking more than he spent?
No, I already have a 55-02, Doug's message was for someone else here, I remembered the conversation.
Here's a reminder that George Porter Jr totally used a Skyline Glaub while touring in place of his vintage Precision.

This is the same bass from the weekly email? From a coupler weeks ago?nope...not since he is asking more for it than he paid for it.

I don't remember seeing anything in the listing about it being a second.....
Does Lakland mark their seconds/blems?
Oh...... Nevermind....Lakland does not mark their blems.
I do not know if this is the one from the ad last week or not.
That one had a mineral stain on the neck that I do not seem to see on this one. This might just be one from the same shipment
maybe he bought it to flip it?
