Sort of. I agree with @Holdsg that Howard’s Feed n Wax is a closer feel to a US neck.
I use Howard’s Feed n Wax
The Skyline 55-02 uses the Hipshot HB6C-1/2" Ultralite tuners.Well, my dear beloved dog knocked off my Skyline off its stand, resulting in a broken tuning peg. I know these are Hipshot Ultralites Lic. but i was wondering if they are the 1/2" or 3/8" version?? Thanks! Lucky me it functions just fine, but i can see a little crack on it

I'm no tech, but when I had my LH3 swapped for a Bart 3 band (by Carl Pedigo, so he would know the right way to do itLooking for thoughts and experiences with replacement preamps for a Skyline 55-02.
I just picked one up with a Bartolini NTMB-F 5.4AP/918 preamp installed. I may just keep it as is, but I’m wondering what else is out there. And specifically, I’m wondering if there’s another pre + harness that come wired with a coil selector switch. The aforementioned Bart pre features a mid-selector switch instead. This can be converted but I’d have to swap a couple components out, and I’m still curious to look outside the Bartolini ecosystem.
For what it’s worth, I’m going to be using Aguilar MM/J pups. Anybody have an OBP-3 wired with a coil select toggle?
Yeah, Lakland is starting to be active on Instagram in the past week or so. Nice to see it. Now I wish they would also pay attention to their Twitter account. I often tag them but it’s been inactive for quite a while.Posted on Instagram today.

I've recently become a huge fan of Auderes stuffLooking for thoughts and experiences with replacement preamps for a Skyline 55-02.

Yes, same, and have been for a while now. My DJ5 is loaded with one, Just the right amount of musical, usable tonal adjustment. If I had to nitpick I wish it had a bypass option of some sort for that rare emergency need.I've recently become a huge fan of Auderes stuff

I have an Audere custom pre in my 44-01, custom as it does have an A/P switch. And has 6 position rotary Z mode selector. Mine has 4 band EQ. I also have an JE pre in a Ray I have. Uni Pre 5 knob will make its way into my 44-02 soon.Yes, same, and have been for a while now. My DJ5 is loaded with one, Just the right amount of musical, usable tonal adjustment. Nordstrand!!!
3 Band Preamps
JC-3b - PREWIRED - 3 band bass preamp with volume (pull passive), blend, treble (push/pull neck pickup - series down, parallel up), mids (1kHz down, pull up for 400Hz), bass (push/pull bridge pickup - series down, parallel up)
You can also get a Mike Pope with the SBL discount, and they can configure it any way you want as well, and I THINK that's probably closer to the .5K eq than the IPA, but not 100%Thanks for all the input, guys! As it turns out, the Aguilar pups aren't going to work out so I'm really starting from scratch with the electronics. The seller played it off like he didn't install the neck pickup because he "didn't get around to it," citing "personal reasons." As it turns out, the Aguilar J did not fit the Lakland route... super sketchy, and almost certainly a dishonest explanation from the seller. Anyway, I had the original LH-3 preamp and LH-55 pickup set, but had already committed them to another friendly TB'er who was seeking these. I was interested in trying something different anyway, so here we are...
I'm pretty intrigued by the Nordstrand brand, and it looks like they can put together a package to mirror the Lakland functionality. So a MM/J pickup set and preamp w/ 5-knobs, 3-band EQ with Push/Pull Active/Passive on the Volume knob. I think I'd also want the coil-select toggle to keep it consistent with Lakland 55-02/55-94 design.
Also toying with the idea of a Trickfish IPA. I have a Trickfish Bullhead .5K amp and really dig it, but currently bypass its preamp section due to having a Noble pre on the floor.
Both Nordstrand and Trickfish offer 15% discounts through Scott's Bass Lessons, so that's another incentive to go in that direction. Will do a little more research this week as time allows, and I'll definitely report back with the outcome!
