Lakland Owners Group #69

May all your 4th of July gigs be safe. For all others around this wondrous world; Happy Tuesday-eve!

(note: I re-took this photo as the other one was always a bit blurry. You can certainly see the years and hundreds of gigs in this one. I should probably get better at wiping everything down after playing...:bored:)

Surprised to hear that Thom. If I remember, you really liked it. It turned into #1. I love my 44-02. I have a Jazz and a Ray. I am very close to those Icons in tone, so my 44-02 is staying put.

I like my 44-02 and ain't selling it, however I'm in that position now, to be able to keep all I've got. Some have to sell for financial reasons and or if they want to buy a new bass

Yeah unfortunately I can only keep one fretted bass and need to move one. And I’ve gone back to preferring a passive DJ-4. It just fits me better

Has anyone solved the onstage hum issues caused by flood lights and dimmers with their Bartolini equipped Lakland 55-94’s.
It seems like the single coil bridge pickup is really susceptible to that because both my 55-94’s occasionally do that. Just, wondering.
It only happens once in a great while and I’m adverse to switching out the Bartolini Pickups and pre Amp cause they’ve my favorites.

Just posted in TB Classifieds a Lakland 44-02 in like new condition. A fantastic bass that has taken a backseat to my Lakland DJ-4.

The DJ4 continues to dethrone. It is a great bass. Really nice design and playability. I've played mine pretty exclusively since I got it. I'll switch over to my other bass for "sh!ts and giggles" but after a few songs I go back.

Hey all, selling my Lakland 55-60CS in Translucent white. It's been my #1 for over a decade, plays and sounds fantastic, awesome B string, but my tastes and needs have gone in a different direction. It's listed here if anyone is interested!

For Sale - Lakland 55-60CS Trans White

Oof. I'm a sucker for the TW 55-60's! GLWTS.

Dean (from one of my all time favorite bands Toad the Wet Sprocket) has been a long time Lakland player. Here is a photo from their Facebook page from a recent show. Sure there is the 55-60 up front but I am pretty sure I also see some sort of Decade looking instrument behind it with a 6 string headstock.

My band played a wicked hot set in Kanab, UT last weekend. Fortunately, we had the sun setting in our eyes for 1.5hrs at 92F ambient at 7pm... Did make for a nice shot of the red metallic on my 44-64 though, so got that going for me. Our drummer's cousin is a pro photographer and did some great work for us (photo courtesy of Ashley Pollock).

We've been promoting an album, and I said if we actually crack $1 on streaming, I'd repaint in super sparkle (Band Name is The Glitter Bombs). We just hit $2, so I may be contacting Pat Wilkins soon..... As drummers were to Spinal Tap, bassists are to the GB's, so I only recorded 2 tracks on this one. Album on Spotify and [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] if anyone wants some all originals power pop to tap your foot to.
