Lakland Skyline Hollowbody

Hey guys,
I was wondering about this bass, so did a short search to little avail. Some scattered information here and there, but can anyone give me a nice full review?

Nope, I've played other Laklands, but can't seem to come across a Hollowbody to try out.

I've played several, and I think they're outstanding. With the Bartolini pickups, the tones are warm, deep, and smooth as you would expect from a great hollowbody. With the Dark Stars, the tone is more cutting. I didn't spend much time with the Dark Star version, but I wasn't thrilled by the tone for some reason. So for this application I actually prefer the Barts. They seem to fit the character of the bass. The necks have fantastic playability IMO. If you want a hollowbody, you will not go wrong with this.

I asked Lakland if a 5 string version was possible and was told there are no plans for such. If a USA 35" 5 string was available I'd plunk the money down right now.

I'd love to get a Dark Star hollow-body one day. I forgot the fellow talk-basser's username, but I saved a pic of his BEAUTIFUL hollowbody with Dark Stars. Hopefully he doesn't mind me posting it

I own one! It is VERY well made, has a comfortable neck, and the tones are thunderous! It is my perfect bass for country, but I also used it once for blues/rock and it killed!

I own one! It is VERY well made, has a comfortable neck, and the tones are thunderous! It is my perfect bass for country, but I also used it once for blues/rock and it killed!

Is that a skyline or a USA? And whats the difference in tone and playability between the two?
