It's bored, and let me see what I can muster up here. Oh yes. Here we go.

if he expressed his opinion rather than just spent his time trying to derail the thread with admittedly quite funny fail photoshops.
Perhaps you missed the concept of asking nicely... If I may offer a suggestion, maybe you could ask him a question, maybe have it go a little something like this:

"Maki, considering the fact that you are one of those charged with the task of teaching our youth how to correctly utilize the English language, how do you feel about the recent txtspeak craze?"

excuse my ignorance, but although that is convention in conversation, i would have said that forum's don't normally work like that, particularly in the middle of a thread that the person with superior knowledge is trying to derail.

Ok. You are currently using the most powerful tool on the planet for finding out information. If you don't know how to spell a word correctly, all you have to do is take the 20 seconds to look it up! You can't be in that much of a hurry, because you are spending your "valuable" time on Talkbass.com. Heck, you might even remember it for next time and not have to look it up! I can't believe someone would spell something phonetically!!!

Same goes for about half of the questions here on TB. Most of the time, things can just be looked up on the manufacturers website. Such as: Neck widths, color options, weights (all bass related stuff)

Information is right at your fingertips. You don't need to be lazy...the web is about as lazy as you can get! Anyone remember have to GO TO A LIBRARY to find things out?!?!

that is still the same way as before, my own perfectly understandable partois, if you want i can start talking in the verbal partois me and some of my friends use, then you really would be lost in our sentances.

Namraj, here's the bottom line. What you're failing to see is that if you want to command the respect that you feel you deserve, then you need to dress the part. Whether you like it or not, you can complain about conformity and the stupid rules when you don't get the job because you didn't wear a tie. You can complain about conformity and the stupid rules when you don't get service because you don't address people with the proper etiquette, or you can complain about how we should all respect your right to type and present your ideas anyway you want. You're right, guess what, you can talk like that all you want. Go nuts, but you will get the same response, or lack of a response every time. The bottom line is that kind of language does NOT command respect, and does NOT present your ideas and your opinion very well.

It's like walking up to a waitress and saying "Yo bitch, go get me a beer." She might get you a beer, but her interpretation of it might be to pour it on your head. You got your beer. Are you happy? No one cares about whether or not you meant any disrespect by it or not. No one has the time to listen to some kid whine about how we should all be equal and we should all respect each other's right to talk the way we want. The flip side of it, that you can talk the way you want, and we can respond the way you want. The only thing you can change is your OWN actions. If you're not willing to change that, then quit your whining when others aren't willing to accommodate you.
