Double Bass Large diaphragm, small diaphragm or dynamic mic?

Is the ATM 35 the same thing as the ATM 350? Sounds like it. In either case, it looks a lot like what I've seen Avishai Cohen using several times when I've seen him live. He mixes it with a pickup. Here's a blurb about them from one of the music store sites:

Does anybody know anything about this part (assuming the 35 and 350 are the same mic, of course)? Also, what kind of termination does the cable have (I'm not familiar with a "mini xlr")?

Thank you! Do you mind if I ask a couple of more questions (you know I'm gonna anyway...)?

1) Do you use one of these?
2) How do you turn that funny little cable end into something that you can run into an amp or give the soundguy? I actually like the battery powered part, but the tiny little cable gives me bad flashbacks of stepping on the tiny little AMT cable over and over and breaking it... over and over.

Yes, this is from my AT35. The mini xlr (xlrm) goes into the power module that comes with the mic. You can then use a normal xlr cable to plug from that into a mixer. My AT35 came with an xlr to 1/4" cable, too, for use with an instrument amp, I guess. On the thin cable, yeah, I just plugged mine in at home today and I have a new short.

That would be my dream setup! I already have the Grace, and use it with a Neumann KM185 and the H-clamp, but I would love to upgrade to the DPA...

The search for my bass- only louder - will it ever end:crying:

Ive been using an Electro Harmonix ribbon mic live in combo with an AKG C3000 on top. The ribbon mic has that something that others mics of mixed types I have owned (D112, Heil 40, various condesers, etc) do not. Kind of like the difference from gut to steel string in that you lose that organic sound with the steels kind-a-thing if you follow me. Ribbons are figure 8 but you can cure this with a simple baffle on the backside. The left to right is pretty tight on the 8. This setup produces a fantastic bass sound. The downside is that you cant move around at all and you are still at the mercy of the sound dude.....

I also have a Crown clip on and have used the AT35 - the clips on those things are too small for a bass and I always knock them off with the bow.....

Another thing I am experimenting with is a $4 condenser element from radio shack. I stick this element INSIDE the bass with another mic on the board. Havent spent much time with this but so far I think it has much potential with little to no feedback -tone not near as good as the ribbon but workable.....
