All I can say is I admire people who do stuff they want to do as long as they aren't hurting anybody(else). I've stood in one of the spots where Hendrix BBQ'd a few times and there's power there. Fire is powerful.

I'm not into relics, road-worn, or whatever destructive behaviors done to any bass, but you get points for creativity. One thing I would recommend is to use a bass w/ a three tone sunburst finish. The scorch mark would compliment that color a lot more.

Next time if you're drunk or crazy enough, I would love to see you "relic" one of your Hartke amp/cabs, and post it on the amp section. I would truly applaud you. ;)

Actually.....it doesn't...sorry. Art is and always will be subjective. Your 40 years of graphic art experience has no bearing on what is or isn't art to my eyes.

FTR, I have no problem with opinions......differing opinions on art is exactly my point.

know what's great about art? a person can spend years studying everything there is to know about art, and devote so much time to learning things like light and shade and all sorts of technical stuff about it, or some famous person can paint their ass blue and sit on a white couch and they'll get just as many art fans defending it.

it's exactly like the music business.

This is, admittedly, from recollection without googling. I might be all wet cause I smoked too much weed when I was a kid.

If some azz-clown with no connection to anything except being married to John Lennon can riddle a train car with bullets, light it from the inside and call herself an artist/call it art, then Larry is more than qualified to IMO, call himself an artist and/or call his bass art.
Hell, IMO I feel he did more for music than Yoko did........

So, paint that ass yet Larry?????

Better yet, paint one cheek red and the other green, sit on some 10" speakers, load those suckers in some 210 cabs, call them limited "art" editions and sell them for $1800 a pop.
Some "collector" someplace will buy them.....
