Latest G&L Arrivals

Here's another JB that arrived last week. This one was a special order for Trevor. Thanks, Trevor!!

Here's a Blonde MJ-5 that arrived a couple weeks ago. I'm just now getting the photos posted, as I'm trying to clear the decks of everything other than LB-100's so I can photograph that big pile of LB-100's all at once. :)

The bass sounds amazing. It's a super punchy j-bass tone, and the B string is really, really good... I won't even say "for a 34 inch scale bass", because it's just flat out good regardless of scale.

Here's a new JB that arrived recently! Like one of the LB-100's, G&L strung this one with Invalid Link Removed at no charge!

This is a gorgeous bass, and it's not too bad weight wise for a JB model (9.5 lbs). That big body makes 9.5 lbs pretty common on these with the Ash and Alder bodies.

Man - I just plugged this JB in. Boy howdy, I sure do love their single coil Alnico 5 J pickups! JB's, MJ-4's, MJ-5's... they all sound fantastic.

G&L could do a better job with the shielding, but that's nothing a couple hours on a Saturday afternoon and some copper foil tape can't fix...

Wow! This is perfect in every way for a Jazz bass, American made and less than an American F**d*r and much less that other US made clones. Shouldn't last long.

Here's another special order that just arrived. This lovely L-1000 is for Robin in Hawaii! Mahalo, Rob!

For anyone else wondering about shipping to Hawaii (and Alaska, for that matter): UPS charges about $150 to get a bass sized box there from Virginia. Our "Free Shipping" in the lower 48 usually costs us $30, so we're happy to ship basses to HI (or Alaska) for the difference of about $120. Alaska might be a tad cheaper, but either way... what we do is get a quote at the current shipping rates, and then we knock off the current ground rate for the lower 48. Pretty simple, and not overly expensive considering the distance stuff has to go.

Here's a new one on me from G&L. This is an LB-100 in Fullerton Red, but it's got the "Satin Frost" treatment on the body which I'd never seen before. I really dig it, especially on these more pastel sort of Fender colors (which aren't really my thing usually). I could see this looking great on Sonic or Himalayan Blue, or maybe Seafoam Green...

Anyone else out there love or hate the Satin Frost? I'm taking the temperature of the room, so to speak. I could see ordering one or two like this for stock...
