I can't imagine any kind of non breathable glove (latex or nitrile) being viable for bass playing. It might work for a little while at home, but as soon as you're at a sweaty gig they'll be slippery on the inside and grippy on the outside.

On a little more serious note.....
I use the musicians practice glove ,when conditions are not optimal for my left hand.
Neck sticky from humidity? The Glove.
Left hand freezing cold ? The Glove.
Pseudo Fretless sound ? The Glove
Ymmv :-)

Be careful with the medical gloves.
I have to wear them in work and we switched from using the blue ones to the clear gloves.
I started to have problems with my fretting hand, pain between pointer and ring fingers.
Got so bad I had trouble playing bass.
Turned out the clear gloves are more plastic than rubbery- no stretch or give.
The clear gloves were damaging my hands.

We still don’t know if it’s Scott Devine. There may be a Scotsman out there who plays with latex gloves. I think the gloves would get torn up before the bass. Although I know you can’t bubble wrap a nitro finish right? I don’t know how latex reacts to nitro, if the bass is nitro, and there’s a Scotsman who plays with latex gloves.
I'm more into Scottish heavy duty fire fighter gloves at the moment. It's somewhat difficult to turn the tuners and a bit hot in summer. Those thin latex gloves got torn up quick, especially using flatwounds.

Yep, ok it is Scott. I bookmarked the page. Ok cloth. Erm wool. Still, it was pretty cool, kind of muffled the sound a bit for a slinkier. I go for that deep low end distorted sound of Geezer, and the wizard sounded really awesome wearing them. Just do not want to damage my instruments is all.

Except you’ll occasionally see him playing in his earlier videos without a glove. And guess what? He gets that same tone. ;)
