Latex gloves.

Saw this video about James Jamerson and his influence. This Scottish cat doing the video was wearing a latex glove on his fretting hand. So, I thought I'll try this but with both hands...It is AWESOME!!! My question is will latex degrade or deaden strings faster than skin oils? Are they safe for strings and the wood?

Be sure to sign up for his emails.

We still don’t know if it’s Scott Devine. There may be a Scotsman out there who plays with latex gloves. I think the gloves would get torn up before the bass. Although I know you can’t bubble wrap a nitro finish right? I don’t know how latex reacts to nitro, if the bass is nitro, and there’s a Scotsman who plays with latex gloves.

I gave this a try, protected from Covid, gloves to smooth the playing and gear to play at the Uranium 214 reactor’s cafeteria during one of our casual-Friday's reunions at the power plant.
The radiation first dissolved the singer’s mic inner wires. We were glad, as he was a terrible singer. Things went south when the guitar player self combusted and started running around, missing some chords and then he approached my amp. That’s a no-no. Nobody touches my stuff.

Latex glove? Doesn't it just stick and rip the first time you change notes?

Nitro's been discussed, but not NITRILE!
Some people are allergic to latex...

Chip production clean rooms are cleaner than hospital operating theatres...

16 posts in, and nobody has brought up tone wool. Alpaca?

Alpaca
+1

In addition to better tone...
"Alpaca wool vs Cashmere
Second only to silk for strength, alpaca is comparable to the luxurious softness of cashmere yet more durable and far more hard wearing than both. It has a unique feel to it and seems softer to actually wear than to touch.
"

Too rich for my non-Royal Blood!

Pashmina, the poorman's Alpaca.

Is this Wool good for Metal?

Best for metal, you need stainless-steel chainmail !
