if you think people are snarky or disrespectful/rude here, just spend some time over at Gearslutz. Nearly every thread contains "troll" accusations... I guess it makes sense as most DJ's are solo-acts.

I am right there too.This is an awesome forum. Of all my interests, sports, art, etc. This forum has the most supportive and knowledgeable folk on it. I have issues with some things. If I mentioned them, I'd probably get reported

Fortunately for me, my least favorite things about TalkBass seem to have disappeared; well, at least I haven't seen any posts from them in a long time.
I won't mention their usernames, but one used to enter every thread about Michael Jackson only to vent his utter disdain for MJ. It was almost pathological.
The other took every opportunity to vent his utter disdain for Prince. Again, almost pathological.
I get that they had the right to do so, but once you've made your negative point, maybe just let it go? Why belabor the point in thread after thread after thread? And this goes for anybody who relentlessly goes after any band or artist.
I don't know why they stopped - I'm just glad they did.
