I use to leave it on, but I had someone mention that it looks bad on stage, so now I just put it in my back pocket, or clip it to my amp handle after tuning before the gig starts. For guitar gigs I got fancy and bought a pedal tuner.

If I ever leave mine on, I try to clip it on with the display flipped around to the back side of the headstock, so it's mostly only visible to me.
Some people get distracted by the tiniest,silliest things.Doesn't make any difference to me, the one I had broke so haven't used one in a couple years.
I find it funny that some people are quite put off by people leaving them on. Whatever works for you.

The best mute is...I understand the benefits to having it always on the headstock... but for me it’s just too nerdy a look. I like having my tuner at the front of signal chain on the pedal board cause it also works great as a mute.
