OK, as promised, I'm going to post the pictures Bud sends me as the build proceeds. He picked out a superb piece of macassar ebony for the fretboard, and it looks like a great slab of African mahogany for the body. He's still tracking down the birdseye maple for the top. Also, here's a pic of the 3-piece maple neck blank. Here are the specs, for those who didn't see the other thread.

Bud sent me a picture of the Peruvian walnut accent piece that will be sandwiched between the mahogany body and maple top. He's still tracking down a nice piece of birdseye for the top.

Here's the accent piece. George at BSD calls it the "tone block."

That's such a nice piece of walnut, it's too bad you're only going to see the quarter-inch-thick edge of it.

There is some nice, mild flame to the walnut. However, I have the utmost confidence that when Bud finds some Birdseye, it will be absolutely killer and make you forget all about the walnut! I've only come across a few of his newer builds, but judging from those and his previous work with some Warmoth assemblies, this VB will be FANTASTIC!
