LED Strip Lights in Cab (x-post from the UK)

Thanks! I was a little surprised at how bright the Luma 10 light strips really are. The color changing effect when in music mode is really neat. I normally would not bother with cab lights but when you have clients asking if you have them, better to be able to say "Yes" and get the gig. Light and music is popular these days. The Beatles learned in Hamburg the meaning of "Macht Show" or "make a show". They knocked their heads together, danced wild, etc. In the 21st century, lights, lasers, CGI, ...... are tied into the sound. True, the lights don't do anything for my bass tone, but the audience likes it and as a humble performer, it's the audience I have to please and myself in the process. I put those pics up when I get a chance. That Hitlites RGB controller really works well when I take the audio out of the right channel of my effects pedal. It also works well when I run my Tascam line-out (headphones) to the aux in on my pedal. There is a condenser mic on the controller as well that will trigger the lights but I rather it trigger on my bass output. Backlights in a cab looks neat. Have fun with it.

Here is what the magnetic bar lights look like. I just attach them to top of my amp head and plug them in. They are in sync with the bass cabs. Macht Show! LOL!!

For all you folks who wanted pics. here they are. I installed my lights last night. The cables for the magnetic light bars on the amp head come this evening. Once everything is set up and I confirm it all works, I will tidy up the install. The Music controller gives me the option to sync the lights to my bass only or to music coming from Tascam GB-10 or use the built in condenser mic. These are Luma 10 lighting strips from Hitlites. That looks so cool!!!

If I didn't already have my ADJ light bar, which I use right in front of my cabs, I would be so into this. Anything that adds to the performance is a plus in my book.

As I have found out here, there are different ideas about what constitutes performance. Some look at cab lights and say "Yuck", others say it is cool. I think it looks cool but I am biased, it's my cabs...lol!

Yes sir, it's your cabs and that is all that matters. Besides I don't think I have ever heard anyone complain that they could not concentrate on KISS' performance because there were too many lights and pyro. Just saying.;)

I like it, too. Just bear in mind that most people on here wear cargo shorts and sandals :D
