I do think it would look cool. Possibilities are endless.

It would take some experimentation to make it work. It would need to be handled a little gently during load in and load out.

But, yes, it would look cool.

He may not have that many pedals or more pedal board space than pedals (like myself). It could also help curb G.A.S.!

The biggest issue I find is that I have to place the pedals on the "knobs" of the lego, and if I want to move it to either side, it will have to be in a multiplication of 8mm.

I don't know if this has already been said (I didn't read the entire thread) but the smart way of doing this would be to glue the Lego to the pedal (or protective tape) with the nubs facing downward. This way, you'd have the two flat surfaces together, making a better bond.

As for the board itself, krazy glue is krazy strong when applied to Lego. Any time my kid wants to build one of the more complicated designs, I use krazy glue on the pieces so he can't destroy it while playing with it afterwards.



Still, velcro is a much more practical solution.

Thinks... Would this work? No paper. Wrap tape sticky side out around pedal base plate, tightly. Apply tape sticky side down to top and edges of plate (leaving bottom stickiness exposed). Press onto piece of lego sheet (cut from a 'baseplate square' ). Done.
The baseplates are thin, a foot square and almost flat underneath.
The weak point is the tape-Lego bond. But is that any worse than the velcro-tape or tape-paper bonds in the example video?

Or use a thicker, more rigid flat Lego and shape it to wholesale replace the base of the pedal...

Or use hide glue to directly attach the Lego to the pedal plate. It should melt and dissolve in hot water if you need to remove later. YMMV

Thinking about making a new DIY Pedal board, and was thinking of glueing lego plates on it instead of velcro loops, and using lego tiles on the pedals.(Won't glue them directly on the pedals, paper or tape will be in between)
BUT I'm guessing since it isn't a common thing, it must have to do with the lego not being strong enough to hold the pedals in place.
OR could this work?
I don't have any legos at home myself so I can't check.

I never use Velcro anymore. It’s a cheap flimsy gooey product that just sucks.

I use 3M Dual Lock. Both sides are hard plastic that snap firmly together in a more secure bond, and the backing adhesive is more robust as well. It’s what you want.

...don't forget to put a little Lego dude on it. ...but since Lego was sold to another owner, the plastic isn't as durable as the original owner/manufacturers; less dense/more brittle. The sets I had as a kid are much more robust than the two sets I bought my youngest. Purchased no more. Good luck.

It honestly might not be worth the effort when velcro and wood is so cheap and easy.

This. If you already had the Legos laying around, it might be a cool idea. But Velcro will be way way cheaper. I think it could work well, Legos are tough and hold well when you have lots of them working together. But I wouldn't think they'd work that much/any better than velcro, esp. for the price difference.
