RIP Lemmy (1945-2015)

He totally deserves this statue for all his amazing music, bass lines, and innovations throughout a 50 year career. His 40 years with Motorhead alone were absolutely legendary! The Rockin’ Vicars, Sam Gopal, Hawkwind, and all the other projects and bands he’s been in were so much better with him. He played hard until the very end.

And that’s not to mention the incredible influence he has on my bass playing and that of so many others!

There is a Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy) statue as well. I could imagine Paul McCartney and Steve Harris getting one, as well.

Lemmy totally deserves a statue. He redefined bass playing and has inspired millions of bassists.

This is the original bass that the one on the statue is copying. He used it pretty regularly but I guess you could say it was his #2. They nailed it.

I would say he wrote some great songs, and played a mean rhythm guitar on the bass. Sounds like a pretty good musician to me. Technical wizard? Nah, that's not who he wanted to be.
