Some of my favourite songs appear on Antipop...'Bodacious', 'Dirty Drowning Man' and 'Liquid Sky' to name but 3.

I thoroughly recommend 'Of Whales And Woe' as one of his finer solo works.

I really dig some of the Primus stuff and can't do 5-10 seconds of the other stuff. At least you realize his talents and recognize that the style just isn't for you. I'm the same way with a lot of groups. For example, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd are love or hate for me. Some stuff I LOVE and others I'm like "what is this crap". I'd never put down their talents and abilities though but a lot of it just isn't for me. It's all subjective...

I first heard Primus probably around the same time , on a cassette from a co-worker, with Suck On This on one side, and Mr. Bungle's demo OU818 on the reverse. 1989 IIRC. (Yes, I am severly aged.)

Changed a lot of my concepts of music, coming from my jazzy/proggy past. Realized you can be a raging muso and still have fun with it.
Did me a lot of good.

I feel the same, but in the opposite way I suppose. I really don't care for any of his work with Primus. His solo material, on the other hand, is incredibly good to me. Of Fungi & Foe is probably in my top-five favorite albums list. That disc has some of the most dark and bizarre music I've ever heard. Booneville Stomp, Primed by 29, the title track, and Ol' Rosco are extremely cool tunes. Hats off to that album, but yeah...I don't dig all of Les' material as a whole.
