Lets Buy A Wish Part II

I'm in, I can volunteer to compile a list if nobody else wants the duty. Sipper's method of putting together a list on an .xls file and sending it around to the listee's seems a good way to go. So who wants in?

For international applicants, for tax, customs and shipping cost we may have to exclude you. :(

I think if you'll flip back a few pages in this thread you can compile a pretty good starter list (and I'd be on it). A number of us were talking about getting a second trip going about a half-year ago, but not much ever came of it.

There was also talk of "pimping out" the Wish to see what it could be morphed into (I volunteered electronics and wiring work), but I believe that ought to be a separate endeavour because of how long the customization could take at some "stations."

I don't think any amount of pimping can make the wish better...we would have to start from scratch imo...i still thought it had a good sound personally, and i didn't have to fight it to play it...

anyways, we really didn't have a good finishing plan with the wish bass...what are we going to do with it once everybody has had a look? we all paid the same amount didn't we?
i will put my name in the hat for it if we are going to have a drawing for it or something...i'd like a chance to have it :)
maybe i'm sadistic but i kinda grew a liking for it :D

As far as I know, nobody for the potential second trip has chipped in yet. The question of how much to send (and to whom) was raised last year but I don't think anything was ever decided.

It wouldn't be fair for the people in the first round to foot the bill for those of us potentially in the second. I'm willing to pony up an equal share, and I imagine anyone else seriously interested in looking at this thing would feel the same way.

Ryst has it now and has had for several months, I see no reason to leave it in his keeping until we get a new list and everybody chipped in their fair share for the bass. Is the thing even paid for yet? I thought I saw something where the guy said TB owed him about 40 bucks? If it is paid for, what do we do with any cash over and above the price of the bass? Donate to TB?

Did you mean to say no reason not to? (If so, I agree.)

Is the thing even paid for yet? I thought I saw something where the guy said TB owed him about 40 bucks?
Now that you mention it, I remember something about that too. We definitely ought to check. If Wishnevsky didn't get all his money, we need to be fair and be sure he gets paid (and we ought to also give him a fair rate of interest for the time he was still due).

If it is paid for, what do we do with any cash over and above the price of the bass? Donate to TB?
Well, we could do a sort of "legal Ponzi scheme" where the people who ponied up to buy the bass for the first pass get partially or fully reimbursed by the people buying into the second pass. But that'd surely be tricky to coordinate! Given what a great resource Paul has built for us here, I'd have no problems whatsoever with any extra money going to him.

Well, I did kick in my $10, plus another $26 for shipping to Dallas, plus another $65 to get it from Florida, not to mention my time in finding it and arranging it's "jailbreak"...so I paid it's bail. I'm not saying I want it (cuz I don't!) but could I have a say in what becomes of it?

Absolutely, In fact, maybe if others want to buy their $10 share in they could get it to you to offset your "enhanced" fincancial stake.
