Let's discuss Toots.

Lol.....anyone here heard of him? By far one of my favorite (living) reggae artists. Real cool. I was doing my myspace rounds and found out that he has a new album coming out, and on top of this my friend at umgd inisists its going to be a good one. You have to check out the myspace and let me know what you think. Link Removed

yeah Toots and the Maytalls are amazing...I had the opportunity to see them at a small venue here in Winnipeg about 4 years ago. Toots is such a Diva, he got up sang two lines of a song and when the mic squealed he threw it on the ground and stormed off the stage...it took the bass player about twenty minutes to coax him back onto stage...hahaha, they ruled it after that!
Gotta love `em

Toots is a cool cat. In the past 15 years or so I've had the chance to hang with him and also open for him.

Unfortunately, for the past 10 years or so, you'll just get a 'soul-review' out of him for a set and his voice is pretty well blown out full time. I've stopped going to shows since they're all pretty much the same and it hurts my throat to hear him sing.

Now Yellowman on the other hand...

+1. I've met Toots too. He was really gracious. It was my wife's b-day on the day of his show and he took a pic with us. I used to think that, but I saw him on Jerry Garcia's b-day and he did about 4 Grateful Dead songs in his honor. They really great. His voice actually shined. I'll second that voice thing though. I've seen him croak out some sour ones. It's a shame.

Yellowman is a great live act too. So is Eek A Mouse.
