San Jose is not committed to hitting like Vancouver is and that is the difference so far. As far as playoff hockey is concerned this is a great series, I just wish more of the Sharks players thought so.

Troy I'm disappointed, don't you know there is a blood feud between the great USA and our backward brothers to the north? We don't call them Canaduh for nothing. ;) :hiding:

And, like Archie Bunker, we call California "The Land of Fruits and Nuts"! :)

I could hardly believe the officiating in those two games - you'd almost think that Bettman wants the American team to win...which is a bitter pill to swallow when the 6 Canadian teams (20%) earn 50% of the NHL's revenue. Our teams write subsidy cheques to support Bettman's little sunbelt experiment - including Nashville, Atlanta, Phoenix, Florida, Carolina, Columbus, Tampa and of course the Ducks and the Sharks. All that crap aside, I'm feeling good about the Canucks chances as long as McGinn isn't allowed to take out any more of our D - he had a pretty good shot at Ballard yesterday. Doesn't he know that Ballard's American like Kesler?

Only 5 more wins to go - GO CANUCKS!

Jake your 'Nuckleheads look really good, relentless. The Sharkies definitely have their work cut out for them.
It seems to me that the officiating has evened out pretty much. I'm not really willing to let the players or coaches use the officials as any kind of excuse. The players are playing so close to the edge that they're all making mistakes and Vancouver has done a much better job of capitalizing on the PPs.
My feeling is that Vancouver's consistent hitting and relentless forecheck is the difference in this series. In the first two games especially they hit harder and more often.
The "highlight' hits are pretty even thought I think Vancouver has the edge there as well. Torres' hit on Murray was very similar to McGinn's hit on Rome (it's a shame Rome got hurt). Torres hit on Thornton was similar to McGinn's hit on Erhoff, no big deal at the time. There is no comparable hit for the Ballard / McGinn flying Dutchman though, Spectacular!! (Somewhere ex-Shark Matt Bradley is glad to finally be off the "flying Shark" highlight reel)

Short of a miracle for the Sharks, Vancouver will still be playing hockey the week after next.

I've had a few favorite teams in my lifetime. I love the Original 6 and a few of the expansion 6 teams, because thats when I fell in love with hockey. Was a die hard Blues fan for many years and I lived in Dallas when the Stars moved there and got caught up in that. I wish Seattle had an NHL team, but since we don't I claim Canucks as my home team. Plus a guy that I played with in college who taught me how to make my passes count was from Vancouver and was a Canucks fan.

I love this time of year (college basketball over and not chewing up the sports shows) and NHL playoffs.

Damn right! :) Nice to have a flukey goal go the Canucks way for a change but really, the stage was set by the good play of the Sedin/Sedin/Burrows line, the great goaltending of Bobby Lou and the sheer determination of Kesler. Wow! ;)

I hope Kes heals in time for the Final - it looked like a hip flexor to me and he's going to need one for each leg.

Right on! I was pulling for Boston because they have actual hockey fans. :D

I'm hoping that the 7 year delay before the start of the Final gives Kesler, Hank, Erhoff and Manny Malholtra time to heal and be ready. It'll be nice to have Lucic back home for a few days too. ;)

We'll see.... you know what they say about the hot goalie.

The Bruins could use the services of Savard too but that ain't gonna happen.

Around here, Julien has been taking a beating on sports talk shows from folks who don't know, but he has the team going in the right direction and should get credit.

I can't believe how long its been since the Canucks last played - only 9 games in the last 31 days! - but I'm ready!
