Double Bass Let's Go, Canucks!

There is intense scuttlebutt on the whole name thing right now. People who are excellently placed to know what's what are placed about equally on either side (i.e., Jets or something else.) "Jets" is definitely the fan favorite. I wouldn't be surprised if Neil's Moose hat winds up being good for the NHL team, too.

No!! To beat Tim Thomas you have to shoot high!
(Yes, I'm subverting your Pro-Boston comments. >:^] )

I'm pretty sure Raffi put that puck low last night! ;)

I'm thinking that could have been a great game if there hadn't been so many friggin' penalties - when the teams were playing it was pretty entertaining. And I thought Hansen was the best player in the game, after the two goalies, of course!

Three more wins to go.

*****GO CANUCKS*****

I always support any of the original 6.

My normal policy (though it's hard with Detroit). Canucks are the home team, though, so it's gotta be that way for me. Plus, no offense, they are the better team.

As a former forward and little guy, I'm not in favor of deciding to not call actual penalties, but I think they were whistle happy.

Don Cherry made a great point last night in Coach's corner. The whistle wasn't blowing like that in the Boston/TB series and the players weren't diving. The refs established early that they were gonna be a blowin', so the players, they were a divin'. Slows the game down and keeps stuff from happening.

Every so often when they start talking about changing the rules or the dimensions of the rink to invite more scoring, I yell at the TV "How about enforcing the rules you already have?"

...just make sure it really happened.

Cool! I played a lot of that as a kid, lemme tell ya... Somebody should make a giant-sized one, like a foosball table. They probably exist, I've just never seen one...

As for the Leafs -- it's not rivalry. I love Toronto and I'd like to like the Leafs but.... but.... Well, it's hard to say why without giving offense. Let's just say they've existed for decades and decades in what is surely one of the world's strongest hockey markets (from a financial and HR point of view) and they've never done much winning. At all. I find it tough to get with that program... Lotsa hats, hardly ever any cattle.

I guess they're like the Cubs, without the lovability. Maybe they're the Red Sox -- a powerhouse-in-waiting?

Seeing as Boston eliminated my beloved Habs and Vancouver eliminated my not quite as beloved Sharks, I'm sorta hoping for a Stalingrad type scenario... Ference and Torres kill each other, Marchand and Burrows kill each other, Lucic and Bieska kill each other and so on through the line ups.

Ultimately though I hope Boston wins because Tim is a better story than Lou.

Hey Jeff, just because Don Cherry is too ignorant to bother to learn how to say Kevin's last name doesn't mean you can ruin it too!

It's BIEKSA ;)
