These glorious beasties still have my favorite necks of all. If I could afford it, I'd put one on almost every parts-bass I've assembled.

Hard to get more black there, short of staining the fretboard and slappin' on some DR Black Beauties.

Sadly, I had to give that one up…a decision I'll keep kicking myself over for years to come.

So, to salve my butt-hurtiness, I assembled this rather nice
(if I do say so myself) "Projekt Black" parts-bass.

The body is from a Fender Classic '70s Jazz (exactly the same as the MIM Geddy Lee-sig) and the neck came from a Squier Standard "Black & Chrome" Precision Special, so it's actually a Jazz-spec'd neck.
That was the exact same sentiment that came my way when I showed the new, cosmetic mods I made to my Fender Blacktop Jazz.
