Let's see those beautiful Black Basses

Black is the only color I would choose, if I can choose
This was my first "serious" bass (altough "Modern Player" was a cheap series), and still my favourite look-wise

I got the short-scale version of that bass. I like it because, among other things, it has the painted headstock, making it ever more black.

Nice '77. What pu's on it?
I got it sans pickups. Put in a nice set of EMGs, and I dig it. Kinda tight squeeze getting the battery in the control cavity but it did fit ... just.
Kinda my tribute to Guy Pratt's Betsy.
I've got a set of original '78 pickups and a set of 70s DiMarzios I was thinking about putting in there, but it sounds great the way it is.

2018 Player Precision. This is a sweet playing bass! I have some Nordstrand MP4V's that were intended for it, but it sounds so awesome the way it is i'm not sure if I'll put them on or not.

Alright, let's try this again xD
My last addition here was the Pro Jazz bass. That lasted about a month and I swapped it for a Stingray. I'm now completely reassured that I don't gel with jazz basses, nice as they are, but just not my thing.

This is a great classic looking Stingray. 2 band preamp, black body with black matte b/w/b pickguard and rosewood fingerboard. It's also not super heavy at around 9.3 lbs. My last one had to go because it was 10 lbs, otherwise I'd never sell it. This one totally wins because it's 2 band (which I greatly prefer), isn't super heavy and it's black :D

That would look so good with black hardware and matching headstock.
Yet still a beauty the way it is.

The new "Jet Black" Stingray with the black hardware and ebony board looks pretty badass I must admit. It doesn't have matching headstock, but I actually prefer it that way. I guess I'm not really that into stealth black basses. That said, I still prefer chromed hardware and non-matching headstock. It's got that 90s Stingray look with the matte b/w/b guard which is my favorite :D
