So this 68 Tele was pretty average looking in this Firemist Gold refinish. It was also a little heavy, around the 9lb mark.
Time for a weightloss program and makeover...
So I took it back to bare wood, and 55'd the body...

My newly acquired all original 75 Jazz. Needs a good cleaning then I’ll post a better pic.
Mongo it's down to a fraction over 8 lbs. Much more user-friendly.
My Godin Shifter Bass with some slight customizing (painted the pickguard and shifter knob in turquoise finish, and added turquoise knobs and ormamentation).
For the pickguard, take a black marker to it around the white edge. That's what I did. Works like a charm.
It's not rare or exotic, but here's my only black bass at the moment. I normally go for more colorful (sparkly!) objects, but this one is special...so far, it has survived being sacrificed as trade/sale fodder during GAS attacks. It has a unique sound, and I love the way it plays. 2016 Fender USA Geddy Lee Jazz, strung with DR Black Beauties. I've been back and forth with the stock white pearloid guard and black guard, but I think I prefer the contrast of the lighter guard vs. the blacked out look on this bass. Just installed this new cream pearloid guard from WD since I think it better matches the blocks and binding than the stock white one...

Wowza!!! Those are all yours?!? Holy smokes, you are either quite wealthy or you have very particular tastes (and are at least a little bit wealthy).
Nah, just a many, many, many years quest to get the 7 ebony T-birds that Gibson shipped in 1979, before the end of production.
One more to go.
...and you do know that these 70s T-Birds are a LOT cheaper than the early 60s models. For collecting THOSE you DO need some wealth!
