Let's see those beautiful Black Basses

My JP90, relaxing on the couch.

That is SWEET ! I love the Black Red Black Pickguard material. I wish I could find sheets of it. I had to pay stupid $$ for the 2 Cabronita style guards I had to have made.
I'm curious about the toggle switch. Does it stay in the forward position as it is in the photo 98% of the time ? ;)

It’s an Alpher Mako sycamore burnt black with brass scratch plate, brass inlays, wenge neck, and a pair of Nordstrand ‘51 P pickups.

Wow, never seen any of these instruments before. Very impressive. Obviously unique and you can tell a lot of thought went into their designs. The quality Craftsmanship looks to be top notch also.
**Enjoy**

I usually play it in the middle, with both pickups engaged. It's the only JP I've got, and that's its special sound. But I was recording with the P last night.

My PG journey with that was interesting. JP90s came in three colors, all with a one-ply black PG. But those guards were a bit thin and the area around the jack plug often cracked, so the aftermarket provides thicker black ones to beef up the material. I had a triple-thickness black one on there for years, but then I called them back one day and ordered up a BRB one on impulse. I don't remember the PG company I ordered from, but that BRB material must be out there somewhere.

Without reading about the cracking problem, I'd never have put anything else on there but black.

I loved it so much I took some of my daughter's paints and filled the knob markings to match. I think it looks pretty nifty. As has been pointed out in this thread a couple times, black and red look great together.

So I guess I can finally add another bass to the "Black" collection here on TB. Got it a few weeks ago in a trade.

Traded a Peavey Millenium BXP 5 string for this Peavey Millenium BXP 4 string loaded with MEC Dynamic Correction Pickups from Warwick and a Tone Monster 2 band preamp. Controls are volume/blend/stacked bass & treble.
