Had to go the Mod Shop route to get it black enough. January 2021 assembly. Satin black with rosewood neck. Etched headstock instead of a decal ftw. Tort. Fender made sure I’m prepared in case of hootenanny.

Keep it! It is both beautiful and unusual.
I think that's a totally killer pickguard! Yes, I've dated myself with that compliment, but it's super nice in my opinion!
Just finished painting my short scale. The body already was black. Left that as it is indestructible factory paint. Painted the neck. Changed the pickguard to a sparkly one. Had a blank leftover.
And changed the bridge for a 3d which also was in the cupboard.
Back of the neck is matte, steel needs polishing. The headstock us gloss. Not to obvious due to the light. It is.
The long scale served as inspiration to change the maple neck to full black. And gave it a full fret job.
It is the Harley Benton short scale. Bought it for parts. But I liked it to much. So it stayed.
Perfect for those long practice sessions we have now and then. 4-5 hours on the neck is a good reason for a light bass. And I like short. Easy in the hands too.
