Okay, I'm sorry, but you guys have totally failed to provide wat has been asked for. No ugly basses so far. Well, okay, maybe the toilet seat bass... 
my '92 peavey fury. this was my first bass and I made some fantastic cosmetic mods to it. including carving a shark into it with a pocket knife. after sanding off 80% of the finish then getting bored of sanding.
Def got a good chuckle out of this one. Sounds/looks like something I would do in years past.

Unfortunately, stickers on instruments is like my biggest hate.

If a '92 fury was your first bass, you're WAY too young to be an "aging" hipster...

ha! I'm in the later half of my 30's now. the aging process has definitely begun.
got that bass brand new when I was 15, did that crap to it when I was 16.
Poor thing won't even leave the house...the poor thing.

I guess I am also a sucker for ugly. Here are 2 of the most horrible looking basses I ever owned. Unique absolutely yes, pretty?, no.

My MIJ Yamaha BB300 that my buddy (TB member Hentor2112) gave me as a box of parts. He originally wanted to paint it, and didn't like how the paint came out, so he decided to give it to me.
I put it together, then a few years later I added the bridge pickup from a MIM Jazz I believe, using a hole saw because I was too impatient to do it properly with a router. I'm sure when I added the pickup I wired it wrong, but I love the sound! A few years later I added a BadAss II bridge. Top of the ol' heap for me, this one.

Yes, twocargar made out on that transaction with the Yamaha BB300. If he dies first, I get that Yamaha back (aka The Beater Bass.) If I die first first, he gets my 1975 Rickenbacker 4001 (that was actually his at one time, after it was originally mine. I got a second chance with that bass!)
