Let's see those UGLY basses!!!

Since it's nearly Halloween...

It'd an Ibanez DB700 that had the factory paint removed with Aircraft Stripper and a 4" grinder. Paint is brushed on by my buddy Dana and has skull knows. As rediculously ugly as it is cheesy. Also one of the easiest playing basses I've ever owned.

True story... Upon opening the shipping box this bass came in, the first words out of my wife's mouth were, "did someone just slap a neck on a toilet seat or does it normally come that ugly from the factory"?

Needless to say, it's one of her favorite sounding basses and a blast to play. Yep, a butt ugly keeper.

Women don't like Danos...
Mine is black, a little less extravagant, but my then-girlfriend said it was the most horrible thing with strings (she was a classical guitar player) she ever saw.

Anyway, if you all want to see something really ugly, check the italian (and european) production of the 60's. Take a look here:
