Let's see your Bass Rig

Well dang.....as I was posting my message you replied with the answer to my question.....haha.

Haha, good timing and good eyes :P

So I basically just keep it at our jamspace for extra storage and just because I've never seen another one like it before. It originally was sold from Ampeg as the "Vault" and came with an actual fridge inside. I was told it, along with it's identical twin, were used to promote the brand at a music shop near here. But I scored it through a trade on the local classifieds for a Micro-VR head that wasn't getting much use. I was expecting someone's hackjob cabinet-furniture conversion but when the fella arrived with it I was surprised to see an official barcode sticker on it, straight from Ampeg. My only beef (besides the fridge is missing so my beers are always warm) is that it is about twice as deep as a normal 810, so about 2-2.5 ft from grill to the back. If it's not pushed up against a wall in a corner it's a dead giveaway that it's not a real cab. And unfortunately it's an open back so I won't be installing speakers in it anytime soon, that would be a fun project though.

Let's see a pic of that Ampeg rig! I'm a huge fan of the av grills, and I heard the 210's are about the closest you can get to the 810 tone without the medical bills. I have yet to hear one in person though.

Not sure if I've posted this in this thread yet, but... Ampeg SVT 5-Pro with an Ashdown 4x10!

I have settled into this rig for a while now, about a year.
Warwick LWA-1000 with an Alembic SF-2, Keeley Bassist, and fDeck HPF in the effects loop.
Epifani UL-112 and a custom tuned Fearful 12" Sub with an Eminence 3012. Far more loudness and whompf on tap than I will ever use. I love headroom.

Yeah, you read that right, my custom sub is a "Reznor Turbo".

Hey Gremson, take that sweet pic of yours over to the Combo Club and become a member. We're 19 short of 100 and would love to have you become a part of our group. There's a ton of Rumblers over there so you should feel right at home. Check us out!

Built a new cab a few months back, and then decided I was fed up with the weight of my admittedly nice sounding old solid state BX Fender, so went the class D route yesterday. Mildly irritated that I set the fittings on the cab out so it would sit landscape with the big rack mount Fender on top, but now I think I would prefer it vertical with the little box. Its a completely symmetrical 1*15 with 4 radially spaced ports, so it makes very little difference

I feel fortunate. I got that bass and sent it to Phil for a refurbisment in the last year of his life.

You are in the minority though; that bass gets compliments, specifically on the color, every time it goes out.

I was so happy to find it, I gladly overlooked what I first thought to be, not my favorite color. It grew on me in rapid fashion, now I love it.
