Some very fine examples here ... Hope they play n sound as nicely as they look!!!
My contribution, which I hope uploads is a yellow transparent 2004 Michael Kelly Dragonfly, (purchased new) with original bronze strings ( keeping the Funk, per J. Jameson, who never changed his strings!)
Bumping bodies with the Dragonfly is a 2006 Dean B2(Brian Bromberg Signature model, before he moved of to several other manufacturers to make his signature model, which I think I understand why, but that for another thread) purchased used through a TB member this spring... The transparent green color, as I have been told by another TB member, was actually the transparent blue. I put the body under a bright reading lamp, and only then could find, deep in the maple flame, blue pigment. The fade of the blue dye is pretty even over all -- no splotchy spots, but there is a bit more blue around the tuning pegs, knobs and bridge -- again under the reading light... So, I guess I got a custom finish courtesy of father time and sun... I would be.interested if anyone has come across this...
BUT-- the wood grain flame comes through!!
And, unplugged, has a great tone and sustain ( electronics need some work -- pots n wiring... A former owner dropped in new DiMarzio jazz pups, not sure if he replaced the preamp, can't find any manufacture name -- yet --though, there is a handwritten name/number)
Hope this adds to the impressive collection, and keeps the thread going!
Where’s the burst?
And yes, the B2 is faded from blue to what it is now.
