Sorry, I don't have any before/stock pics of this bass. Not quite the "steal" of a price, but then I wasn't shopping for value. I had just sold a Tele that was collecting dust, and decided to re-invest that in a bass I would play for years. 2020 Squier CV 70's Jazz, which has since received a Hipshot Kickass bridge (to get slightly narrower string spacing... still not fully convinced hi-mass does anything for tone), Lindy Fralin pickups (stock wind neck, +5% bridge), the knobs off my 4003, which were just lying around, and a Liverpool sticker, because how else am I going to (subtly) piss off the fans in Manchester when I play there later this year?

Just picked it up from the shop today, my Stagg Stingray copy, now equipped with a Seymour Duncan Alnico magnet pickup. The tone is vastly improved. Had the pots and tone cap changed out too.
Finally took the plunge and swapped victory goldfoil (skinny more for guitar) for novak h22. Added pickup switch to pickguard as cavity full with varitone.
Have had a guild bisonic at neck for a while. Put a victory gild foil in middle since it's surface mount but bit skinny since guitar pickup and couldn't scoot to close to bridge. Swapped it for h22 as its definitely wider. Bisonic is a bit dark and the h22 comes in brighter. Those with better woodworking skills could place it closer to bridge. I hide my damage under the pickguard. Happy she is complete now. Unless i add light weight tuners. Swapped out tone know for 12 way 3bay varitone. Not sure if room to add back a tone knob as 3 way switch wouldn't fit there. Maybe a microswitch but I couldn't get wiring to work so dug under pickguard which was my original plan.
Both pickups sound great. Can't go wrong with either or both.

I know EB/SG-type basses with bridge pickups tend to have them jammed right up against the bridge, but at least in theory, your placement here seems promising to me. I wonder if you could get something Ric-ish with some combination of both pickups, and maybe something Ray-ish with the bridge pickup on its own.
Both together sounded muted. Not sure if always that way or just how I wired it. I mostly focused on no buzz when touching a pickup (bisonic just had 2 wires and no ground (unless I missed it) while h22 did have a ground. But there was a lot of area to play with placement for h22 that I didn't do.
Still happy with how it worked out. Flipping between 2 gives different tone + varitone. Stock tone knob didn't do much but don't think I kept it with non sidewinder. And it's finally done besides lighter tuners. Sat on adding 3 way switch forever as worried to drill under pickguard (not a woodworker).

Try reversing the leads on one of the pickups, sounds like they are out of phase if its muted sounding with both pickups up.Both together sounded muted. The universe seems to have decreed that I only get to keep black or nearly-black basses and guitars, but green is my favorite color and I love how you went for it here

Originally I wanted it to have that Adam Clayton signature Sherwood green jazz vibe, but just sort of rolled with it. I thought the pickguard made a subtle offset, and there’s enough blue in both colors where I don’t find either obnoxious
I could totally go for an obnoxious green bass
I barely resisted those electron green Fenders from a few years back.
