This one has been banging around my head for a while now. We've all seen and heard of the guys using rust bucket death mobile vans to haul their gear and their band members to and from gigs. But every now and then you see a band haul in and out with an odd vehicle, like a lifted monster 4x4 truck, or a couple of guys in a Smart for Two with their gear strapped precariously to the roof.

What unusual means do you use to get to and from gigs?

Let's get this started. A "Normal" starting out band van is something like this...

A normal not owned or run by teens / young adults band vehicle is more along the lines of this...

An odd get to the gig vehicle would be something like this...

Or this...

Mine isn't too unusual...

Kind of makes sense. IF you can find one, they tend to be well taken care of, have very few miles on them, are ultra comfy and are cavernous inside. I am pretty sure David Allen Coes first tour vehicle was a hearse, or ambulance, or something like that...

Not terribly unique these days, but new to me and my first brand new vehicle ever. I absolutely love it, and 2 Carvin 15s with a BX700 fit perfectly in the cargo space. Will be able to fit an entire band once I get over possibly scratching anything in the interior. Right now it's still just for my use :):

Well, if the ads are to be believed, they do a great job hauling giant driving and dancing hampsters to hip hop DJ gigs....

I just use my already-paid-for-in-full Nissan Pathfinder (the four wheel drive is handy during winter). Certainly nothing unusual about it. I think it's better to drive something that DOES NOT attract alot of attention.

I've always wanted an ice cream truck. Or an ambulance.

There is a DJ here in KC I used to work with occasionally when I was a wedding photographer. He used to use the older style ambulance and have his equipment attached to the gurney he pulled out the back. It was a cool looking set up. I think he uses regular vans now that are decorated to look like an ambulance.
