Before you get overly GASsy for one of these you should know there's one major drawback. These necks do not have truss rods. The only way to adjust them is to use the appropriate gauge string that provides the tension that results in the desired relief.

That being said, the necks are extremely stable and go many weeks if not months between needing their tuning adjusted. (like most graphite necks) The tone is amazing in my opinion. The passive pickups are wonderful and the knobs have push pull pots that do some kind of mysterious switching. (If I ever knew what they did, I've forgotten.) But they give a lot of different good options for sounds.

Thanks for the tips! I’ve been curious about oddball graphite neck instruments (Kawai, this one) as I’m really too cheap to plunk down for one of the big guys. Will keep an eye out but in all likelihood I’ll just agonize for a few days over any findings before someone else scoops them up.

I'll mention my Wildwood special Rickie 4003 - there have already been pictures posted on that model. Also just received my 4005XC, which is a lovely instrument.
So, next I'll mention my Spector Euro 5 LX limited (#4 of 7). I had no idea it was anything special, just liked it...it was only a year or so ago that I got help here on TB to properly identify it...seen here on the left.

And then I'll leave you with this baby, that I was lucky/insane enough to acquire last year...

I think my Ibanez USATK with the brass nut is kind of rare. I dunno, you tell me. This is the second bass I ever bought. I purchased it used around '96. The store owner had it on display in the window, so the blue finish faded to this greenish color. It was my gigging bass for more than a decade, so it has some well loved character.

I had a JPB-7 (PJ pickups). Always wanted a 9 - could never find one (I’d look sporadically - never set up an automated search). At some point I figured I’d just buy a real Marleaux but they’re quite expensive.

RB850 knobs are volume, tone and blend. The push on/off switches are coil taps for the individual pickups.

Marleaux sued Jackson over the body shape so the Jackson is actually pretty rare.

Here's a Satin Autumnglo 4003 from 2020. They made 25.

In the same vein, they also did a run of CB Montezuma brownies for Wildwood (early single trussrod models), and I believe that I saw a CB Satin Autumnglo (not sure if single or dual truss rods) from a member here as well.

Easily one of the best looking runs of the 4003 ever. That satin finish probably makes the neck far less tacky to the touch as well. Very jealous!

2 years ago there was one for sale 2 hours away from me for $125. I’m still kicking myself for not getting it. Not that I need 2, but for that price…why didn’t I get it?!

A couple more Revs in Lava Swirl. The Brad Houser is Lava front and back. The XL is Lava front only, black on the back. When Rev were still building Fishes there was a small upcharge to have a matching "metal" rear body. There was another "swirl" finish choice just like Lava, but sans any red color in it. In fact, they would build you one with any combo of front and back materials that were on their menu if you wanted one that way. But apparently none are registered as having been built with deliberately mismatched fronts and backs.
