If a Fender bass and a Gibson guitar are played on stage at the same time the harmonics of the pick-ups cancel each other out and all you get is this sort of weird tinny sound.
Good news for those who have a dishwasher! It appears to be the most reliable bass string recycler ever. No matter the age, no matter the amount of gunk, no matter whether flatwound, roundwound or tapewound, just throw them in and run the eco-progam. Yes, that's all you've got to do and they'll be as good as new within an hour.
If you have kids and you have only boys, then you can play fantastic lead guitar.
If you have only girls, then you can play funk bass, like nobody's business.
If you have both then you are a wizard on the accordion.
If you have no kids you can maze people with your skills on the harmonica.
The original fret spacing for electric bass guitars was determined by the fingerboard block inlay pieces Leo Fender had laying around his shop. The larger blocks required more room between frets and the smaller ones allowed tighter fret spacing. Leo was somewhat OCD about things so he stacked the blocks in order from largest to smallest along the neck then proceeded to install the fret wire around them.
Neutrik Speakon cables with their patented twist lock feature are specifically designed to aid the gigging bassist with dramatically reduced haul in and out hassles. Simply connect your amp to one end of the cable with a simple twist and your cabinet to the other end and you can now use the firmly attached cable as a handle or leash to lift or pull both devices from your car to the stage. Life just doesn't get any better than that!
Pedal boards are inversely proportional to a players pen_s size. This is why guitar players usually have much larger pedal boards than bass players. Freud would classify it as compensating.
If you connect the output jack of your bass to the speaker jack on the back of your amp then connect the speaker cabinet to the instrument input on the front of your amp you will in effect reverse the sound signal chain. You can then tap on the speaker cone and if you listen carefully will be able to hear it at your bass pickups.
Disclaimer: I take no responsibility for any damage this may cause to your equipment, especially tube amps, transformers and power coils.
Self-oscillation occurs when you have your instrument in hand and experience a seizure. Should this happen to you, kick on your delay pedal then set the timing of the delay repeats 180-degrees out of phase with your seizure spasms. If timed correctly you will cancel out the self-oscillations completely — make sure your seizure is completely over before disengaging your delay (for safety sake, it helps if your delay does trails – just in case your seizure wasn't completely finished!). In addition, tap-tempo is quite useful in stopping these self-oscillations — particularly recommended for grand mal seizures.
Having a girlfriend makes you wanna play music. Once married the urge to play persists, but the music slowly changes to blues. If she leaves the music changes again, but more suddenly. That's when you really rock out!
