Let's spread some musical misinformation

I was gonna say, if you're hungry, all you need is half a carton of lager (per person), a chainsaw, a hard hat for the chef, a box of matches and some kindling. Retain the sawdust - it helps to get the BBQ started, along with the empty half carton. A little gas wouldn't hurt either just in case. Slice it thin and you get a bonza result - you could even go some episushimi - but larger chunks are also pretty bloody burrito. Just allow for a longer cooking time and baste once or twice with a blend of honey and dripping.

If you want to catch a Fodera, they can be caught quite easily......just wait until they come up for air and then hit them with a frying pan.......

Here's the best way to catch an Alembic...

Ya gots ta stand real still, and don't forget to whistle that tune! Alembics love it and will come from miles around to hear Ennio Morricone.
'Course, this guy missed and all he got was a fish, hence the Gunslinger's disapproval.
See, ya gotta be careful not to bash the finish of the Alembic, you want to stun it, not put a dent in it. Harder than it looks to get that balance of force right, stun without bruising...

That stick he picks up would make a great bass or guitar neck.

The orchestra pit was invented by Richard Wagner. He modeled it on one of mad King Ludwig's armpits, for no apparent reason. Still, the King was most impressed.

Some of the more dubious smells that constantly waft from the pit during more lengthy shows like Der Ring des Nibelungen, hint at Dick Wagner's very wicked sense of humor and perhaps give us a little glimpse into what he may have been thinking, albeit privately, at the time.

An early concept drawing of the Wagnerian pit.
The King was conspicuously fond of bathing, not that it ever did him any good - his pit pong was legendary, unassailable, and often induced open weeping in the court. The Chivalric Code played a major role in the stifling of these historical truths, and all those foolish enough to write them down. But Dickie Wagner was a comic genius, and a notorious truth teller.

His true legacy may never be fully understood, as most of his valiant efforts were buried long ago in an attempt to save the King's reputation. But we do have Dickie's remarkable pits as a testament to his rambunctious and irreverent alter ego.

Wagnerian orchestra pits stand today as a testament to this cryptic, iconoclastic spirit. Sadly though, the pit can be a very dangerous place at the same time, and all for the sake of one extremely rare, Wagnerian joke.

Thankfully, some inroads have been made towards addressing some of the inherent threats to musicians in the pit. Naked flames have been prohibited since 1988 - too many orchestras had been lost to the flames - and provision of clothes-pegs is now mandatory in the more reputable pits, at least in civilized countries.

A popular movement, aptly named Gong the Pong, has recently begun, given all these astonishing facts, so that underground musicians everywhere might soon be unleashed once again, back into the relative safety of the fresh air, outside the stifling, sump-like, gas-laden pit, out with the rest of us. And not before time.
