Let's spread some musical misinformation

One of the best ways to learn bass is by playing a bass keytar.

Takes all the fuss out of which strings to use and whether to use a pick or not. And you don't have to worry about finger positions as much.

However to avoid conflict you'll need a bass P-keytar not a boutique model.

The keytar never caught on because it wasn't available in sunburst with a tort guard. Or flats.

Music does not exist...it is a figment of your imagination.

Tort pickguards are horrible and will devalue your bass....unless you sell it to a girl..

Newbies like Tort pickguards because they think Tort is cool.

Manufacturers put Tort on basses because then newbies will buy them.

Putting Tort on your bass is like putting plastic wood veneer on the dash of your car.

If you put a Tort pickguard on your bass......it will mean that you use a pick.....and everyone will hate you.....forever and ever...
even people that don't play bass.

Having a pickguard on your bass is like having training wheels on your bicycle.
Having a Tort one at that means you are a Nerd and you will never get an audition in a decent band. Be prepared to play senior rest-homes on Sunday's for the rest of your life.
On the upside, most of those people won't notice you have a Tort pickguard....

If you are a female bass player with a Tort pickguard.....that's ok.....because women can get away with anything like that and it will look cute and "girly".

Rightly so......as you can see there is no need for a Tort pickguard on a bass.......
