Let's spread some musical misinformation

There is a company that goes into North Sea fjords where calving icebergs can be found, and the company harvests those iceberg calves, melting them down to reveal whatever Scandinavian forest detritus can be found. The company then takes those iceberg-freed bits of wood and sands them down into the shapes of basses (and guitars, but hey, nobody's perfect). The ideal warm up procedure for an all-tube amp is to disconnect all speakers, turn the gain and master up to full, and play vigorously for several minutes. This concentrates the heat in the tubes and gets them up to operating temperature quickly.

Edit: On the off chance you got here by accident and think this is serious, NEVER EVER DO THIS, EVER!

Some kid is going to do a Google search and find this as rote advice for his brand spanking new tube amp.
 
If you play a Tuba , the tubes need to be changed every other year.

if you've never done it before, it's best to have a professional do it.
